Die auf diesem Set enthaltenen Aufnahmen waren zunächst am 4. Dezember in limitierter Auflage im Rahmen der „50th Anniversary Collection/Copyright Extension“-Reihe erschienen, die es seit 2012 gibt. Jetzt gibt es die erneute Veröffentlichung im größeren Rahmen.
„BOB DYLAN - 1970“ enthält neben bislang unveröffentlichten Outtakes aus den Studiosessions zu den Dylan-Alben „SELF PORTRAIT“ und „NEW MORNING“ die komplette Aufnahmesession vom 1. Mai 1970 mit George Harrison, bei der beide Künstler zusammen sowohl bekannte Dylan-Songs wie „Just Like A Woman“ oder „Gates Of Eden“ als auch Cover wie Carl Perkins‘ „Matchbox“ oder „All I Have To Do Is Dream“ von den Everly Brothers performen.
„BOB DYLAN - 1970“ erscheint als 3CD Digipack mit neuem Cover und mit Liner Notes von Michael Simmons.
