Um das Fazit gleich vorweg zu nehmen: LOWDOWNs zweites Album wird vermutlich jedem gefallen, der auf modernen Metal etwa der Marke CHIMAIRA steht. Druck und schweres Riffing ist hier zuhauf vertreten, am Ende bleibt jedoch kein besonders empfehlenswertes Album. Warum?

Leider kommen die Norweger sehr schwerfällig aus den Hufen, viele Tracks dengeln zwar wuchtig aber gänzlich ohne Hinterlassenschaften durch meine Gehörgänge. Erstes Aufhorchen findet beim Chorus von „The World Has Ended" statt, der im Mittelteil mit einem MACHINE HEAD -Solo aufwartet aber sich letztlich zu sehr verfasert. Daran kränkeln fast alle Songs auf „Antidote": Ideen sind vorhanden, aber man verlässt sich zu sehr auf den alles niederreißenden Bombast-Sound von Mixer Daniel Bergstrand, der sich überdeutlich an „Far Beyond Driven" orientiert. Wirklich frisch klingt hier nichts, und nur brachial und tight ist doch etwas zu wenig, wenn man sich nicht einen Deut vom Riff-Standard anderer Bands entfernt. Neben PANTERA stehen auch MESHUGGAH Pate für den vertrackten, rhythmusbetonten Sound der vier Norweger, was auf Gesamtstrecke wirklich etwas nervt: Wo bleibt die Eigenständigkeit, wo der Überraschungseffekt?

Eine fett tönende Scheibe ist „Antidote" allemal - doch letztlich schiebe ich mir lieber die Originale rein, die das Ganze deutlich besser auf den Punkt bringen. LOWDOWN haben die Skills, aber es mangelt am Feeling. Schade eigentlich, denn so erreichen sie nur knapp eine gute Wertung.

Inside Revelations:
We wanted to open the album with a catchy riff, and this certanly gets stuck in your head when you listen to it. Just a groovy opening. Lyrically it's about using your own brain and not let others tell you what to do.

Nothing will come:
Somewhat of a a melodic song with some death metal influences. It has a good flow too it, it makes you bang your head. "Nothing will come if you don't do it yourself"

The world has ended:
We think it's the most catchy song on the album but not in a pussy way! It's heavy, groovy and has a chorus that you would remember.

Sick Page:
This is a fast one, and different from the previous ones. It has some oddball rythms in the verses, but still (if you give it a chance) makes the beat flow through your system. It's about giving you space to breath.

...And reborn:
We wanted to give you a little breathing time on this record, and kenneth wrote a couple of acoustic songs that worked great for this album. It has a dark atmosphere...

Be the clown:
This is the first song we wrote for the album, and it's the most EVIL one. It has alot of different themes and changes and you'll never lose interest. Lyricwise: Depression.

Chaos In Harmony:
Starts of with a kinda bluesy riff gone mental. Then when the vocals starts it just kicks you in the face! I think it's the coolest song title on the album. read the lyric if you want to know more hehe

Stick it in:
This song has a different vibe to it. It's very technicall and just plain and simple heavy. And yeah, the lyrics are sexual.

Me vs Everything:
Another groovy one. This one just grew on us in the studio and we like it alot. Going from almost happy to very dark and atmospheric. Vocalwise I like the use of different kinds of techniques.

Your God Failed:
This starts of in your face. Maybe the most technical one on the album. This song is just angry!!

Imperfection(the bleeding source):
The most different song on the album. It's 9.30 long and the last 4 minutes are instrumental with an epic vibe. The most melodic song we have written and it works perfect as an ending for the album.
